Gulei Thermal Power Project Unit No. 4 Successfully Passes 72+24-Hour Full-Load Trial Operation
The "Gulei Thermal Power Unit No. 4," part of the third-party safety and quality supervision service procurement project undertaken by Tianjin Zhonghai (COEMC) for the Southern Phase II of the Gulei Petrochemical Base Cogeneration Project, successfully passed the 72+24-hour full-load trial operation on May 30.
As the core energy supporting project for the Sino-Saudi Gulei Ethylene Project, the grid connection of Gulei Thermal Power Unit No. 4 provides stable and reliable steam and power supply for the Sino-Saudi Gulei Ethylene Project (Fujian Sino-Saudi Petrochemical) – a mega-project with a total investment of RMB 44.8 billion, scheduled to commence production in August 2026. This ensures a strong foundation for the project to be completed and put into operation on schedule.
In this project, Zhonghai Consultation undertook professional technical services related to safety and quality, taking full responsibility for on-site construction safety supervision and welding quality control of steel structures. During project execution, the team carried out round‑the‑clock on-site safety and quality oversight. Safety supervision focused on key areas including work at height (scaffolding), lifting operations, hot work, temporary electricity use, confined space operations, fire safety, labor protection, and integrated on‑site management. Quality supervision was centered on welding quality control for pressure piping and special‑material steel. During on‑site inspections, the team proactively proposed multiple optimization recommendations to the construction contractors, assisted them in implementing corrective actions, and provided the owner with practical and effective technical support in safety and quality. With Unit No. 4 successfully passing the full-load trial operation, this marks a milestone achievement of the safety and quality technical services undertaken by Zhonghai Consultation in this project.
